Upcoming Unit Test

September 19th, 2012

Students will take their first unit test this Thursday. They all received a review packet Monday. We have worked on this in class, but students should also be working on this at home. Friday students will take the performance portion of the test. This will be free response questions where they will need to show all work and explain their thinking. I look forward to seeing what they all have accomplished so far this year!

Number System Fluency: Quiz

August 17th, 2012

We survived Week 2! Students completed a quiz on Thursday (8/16) focusing on factors, multiples, GCF, LCM, and prime factorization. Overall I was very pleased with everyone’s performance! The quiz will be returned to students in class on Friday (8/17) and will be asked to have the quiz signed and corrected by Monday (8/20). If you (or your child) has any questions, please let me know! Student may use any class notes, study guides, or Vocab Flip Books to help make corrections.

Have a wonderful weekend!!

First Week

August 10th, 2012

Whew! We have made it through the first full week of school! This week we have focused on factors, multiples, and prime numbers. We will continue to work with these concepts next week and throughout the school year. Next Friday, (8-17-11) we will take our first quiz covering factors, multiples, GCF, LCM, and prime and composite numbers.

Please encourage your students to work through their homework and review their Flip Book every night.
Everyone has worked very hard this week! Have a wonderful weekend!!

Pre-Test

August 8th, 2012

Students completed a 6th Grade Math Pre-Test on Tuesday and Wednesday. Everyone worked very hard and I am very pleased with the results. This assessment was not for a grade, but provided insight on what the students knew coming into this year.

I look forward to seeing their growth and success over this school year!
