Students will take their first unit test this Thursday. They all received a review packet Monday. We have worked on this in class, but students should also be working on this at home. Friday students will take the performance portion of the test. This will be free response questions where they will need to show all work and explain their thinking. I look forward to seeing what they all have accomplished so far this year!

Review of both GCF/LCM
Parents and Students,
Several of you have asked for additional notes on our fractions unit. Please use these as a starting point, as well as the 4-Square notes the students have been taking in class.
We survived Week 2! Students completed a quiz on Thursday (8/16) focusing on factors, multiples, GCF, LCM, and prime factorization. Overall I was very pleased with everyone’s performance! The quiz will be returned to students in class on Friday (8/17) and will be asked to have the quiz signed and corrected by Monday (8/20). If you (or your child) has any questions, please let me know! Student may use any class notes, study guides, or Vocab Flip Books to help make corrections.
Have a wonderful weekend!!
Whew! We have made it through the first full week of school! This week we have focused on factors, multiples, and prime numbers. We will continue to work with these concepts next week and throughout the school year. Next Friday, (8-17-11) we will take our first quiz covering factors, multiples, GCF, LCM, and prime and composite numbers.
Students completed a 6th Grade Math Pre-Test on Tuesday and Wednesday. Everyone worked very hard and I am very pleased with the results. This assessment was not for a grade, but provided insight on what the students knew coming into this year.
Welcome to 6th Grade Math! This is my third year teaching at WJMS and I am very excited to start a new year with you! Math has always been one of my favorite subject and after this year I am sure it will be yours as well! 🙂
