Today is the cutoff date for grades to be posted for the 1st 9 weeks report card. All assignments that have not been turned in have been labeled as “Missing” and are currently factoring as “0’s” on students’ averages with the exception of missing tests and quizzes. Test and quizzes are labeled as missing but are not being factored into students grades because most are due to absences and will be made up when it is logistically possible. Up until today these assignments have just been labeled as “missing” and have not affected averages but I wanted both parents and students to know that those assignments where missing at that time. With the change today many students’ grades may have been affected. All grades are on a running total this year so averages will not be “locked” until students get their “final end of the year” report card meaning when these missing assignments are completed, turned in, and graded their averages will be readjusted accordingly at that point and will reflected on the next report card. Logging into Infinite Campus will show what assignments are missing. I would suggest if a student has a missing assignment to have them write down the name of the assignment and bring it to me so I can give them the proper instructions for making it up. I usually give alternate assignments for missing daily grades so they will need to see me if they are missing one or more of those.
If you do not have a parent login for Infinite Campus the school can supply you one but until then parents can always use their child’s login. At the top of the WJMS homepage is a tab labeled “IC Parent Portal”. Click on that tab and scroll down until you see another link that says “Infinite Campus Parent Portal”. Once you click on that link it will take you to the IC website. Your child’s username is their “5 digit lunch code” and their password is their first and last initial of their legal name and their 6 digit birthday mmddyy. For example John Doe’s password would be ” jd010113″. Once logged in click on “Schedule” and click each individual class to see grades and assignments and what is missing.
